Problems with your hot water? Start here.

Tell us what changed and when it started. We inspect the heater, connections, and relevant operating conditions before explaining the repair or replacement options.

Water around the tank

A connection, valve, drainage issue, or tank leak may be involved. We inspect the source before recommending work.

Hot water runs out sooner

We check heating operation, controls, capacity, and the condition of the heater to understand the change.

New rumbling or popping sounds

Changes in sound deserve a check. We inspect the heater and discuss appropriate service based on its condition.

Discolored water or an unusual odor

Tell us whether the issue affects hot water, cold water, or both. We can assess the water heater and explain when further water testing may be needed.

Burner or pilot trouble

We inspect fuel-burning equipment and relevant controls and venting. Leave repeated ignition problems to a qualified technician.

A tankless error message

Send the model and error code. The code helps guide testing, but the unit still needs assessment to identify the cause.

Compare tank and tankless options

Find the right water heater for your home.

Tank and tankless systems suit different homes. We compare hot water demand, available space, energy supply, venting, installation cost, and maintenance before recommending equipment.

Consider a tank water heater

  • Existing installation. A tank replacement may suit the available space, connections, and venting.
  • Hot water use. We compare tank size, recovery, and peak household demand.
  • Project budget. We explain the complete installed cost and any work needed.
  • Ongoing care. We review maintenance requirements for the selected heater.

A tankless installation needs suitable fuel supply, venting, electrical connections, and drainage as applicable. We also explain the maintenance and descaling requirements for the selected model and your water conditions.

Had a great experience working with Bryan & Heather. Started with an emergency call late evening during a bad winter storm when our old HVAC broke. Bryan came right out to diagnose the problem. Due to our old system being very old, it made sense to replace the entire system rather then the specific part which caused the issue. Bryan took the time to explain everything so I could make an informed decision and trusting his guidance. He even came back in the middle of the night to leave space heaters for our family until the new system could be installed.

Since the new system was installed we have a few minor issues, most of which are due to our unique house issues. However, Bryan or his team comes right out immediately upon contacting them. I would definitely recommend Middletown HVAC to anyone dealing with HVAC issues.

Middletown HVAC did it again! I woke up the morning of my birthday to no hot water. I went to their site and chatted with them via text at 10am, by the evening we were back to normal. Thank you soo much for getting me comfortable again!

Six out of five stars for sure.

I recently used Middletown to replace my tankless water heater. Wish I had used them years ago instead of my original plumbing company.

My last heater should have still been working fine, but had been having sporadic issues for a few years. I had the original local company and a competitor out a couple times last year to try to diagnose its ongoing issues, and I even replaced a part myself, yet it was failing. Middletown listened to me on the phone carefully and came out quickly to see the issue. The tech listed thoroughly to everything I had to describe about its history. (As a woman I am still used to many men not respecting my ability to understand mechanical concepts or make sound decisions, so I especially appreciate the full respect and partnership that I always received from every member of Middletown’s team.)

He identified a couple likely causes including one no one else had (which made so much sense when he posed it)… and then the owner came out to confirm and write up the proposal. Even though it was worst case scenario and proved how much money I had wasted going with the last team years ago… their price was less than I feared and most importantly it was within my budget.

Their work was on schedule, performed promptly and without frustration, and has held up beautifully. I have complete confidence in their knowledge, skills and honesty. I will use no one else for future work and recomend them to everyone.

Useful answers before you call

Water heater questions.

When should I replace a water heater?
Condition, leakage, performance, repair cost, parts, and your hot water needs all matter. We inspect the equipment and explain whether repair or replacement makes sense.
Is tankless right for my home?
We compare hot water demand, fuel supply, venting, space, installation cost, and maintenance. We install Bradford White tank and power-vent models and Navien tankless systems, and can explain suitable choices.
Can you service my existing water heater?
Yes. Tell us the brand, model, age if known, and the problem. We assess the equipment and explain appropriate maintenance or repair before quoting work.
What maintenance does a tank water heater need?
Requirements vary by model and water conditions. We review the manufacturer’s instructions and assess components such as the anode, valves, connections, and sediment-related maintenance as applicable.
How soon can you help with no hot water?
Availability depends on the schedule, equipment, parts, and installation requirements. Call or text for urgent help so we can check options. Online booking is best for future appointments.
Do you address permits and inspections?
We explain applicable permit and inspection requirements as part of the proposed installation scope.
Should a water heater and furnace be replaced together?
We assess both units and any shared venting before recommending work. Replacing one may affect the other’s venting, so we explain the complete scope and compare options.
